The Deputy

Sir,

I am directed by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No. 2404 of the 8th inst., requesting that the sale of Inland Lots Nos. 1236 and 1237 to the south of Kennedy Road may be postponed until the Tytam Water Supply has been laid on to the Barracks.

His Excellency understands that for a considerable time past there has been nothing to prevent the Military Authorities from supplying the Barracks from the Tytam mains, and that, as a matter of fact, a portion of the Military Establishments is so supplied at the present moment.

In order, however, to afford time for the connection of all the Barracks with the mains, His Excellency is prepared to postpone the sale of the lots, referred to above, for three months, on the understanding that, if the connections are not made within that time, His Excellency will not feel justified in further postponing the lease of the land for building purposes.
